About the role
Reporting directly to the Head of Value & Promotions Marketing for the UK and Ireland, the Senior Marketing Manager, Value Strategy and Operations will collaborate with key marketing teams to define and execute promotional strategies aligned with business goals. A primary focus will be leveraging promotions and value propositions to strategically influence customer behaviour and maximise returns for Deliveroo and its partners. Key responsibilities include quarterly planning, establishing a test and learn framework to identify and implement promotional best practices, and proactively uncovering future growth opportunities. This involves considering business priorities, analysing past promotional performance, and staying abreast of market trends.
You will work cross-functionally across local & global teams, specifically Commercial, Finance, Tech and Data sScience to build the right plan and define processes that improve our customer experience, as well as identify improvements in the way that promotions are executed at Deliveroo.
What you'll be doing
Quarterly Planning: Lead the quarterly planning process for promotional activities, taking into account business priorities, partner objectives, past performance of promotions, and market trends to proactively identify future growth opportunities. Align promotional plans across central and local marketing teams, ensuring the necessary technical, reporting, and targeting foundations are in place for successful execution.
Promo Strategy Development: Work with the Head of Value and Promotions Marketing to define and implement a robust promotional strategy based on business objectives, with a particular focus on how promotions and value propositions can strategically change customer behaviour and drive return for Deliveroo and our Partners.
AI Powered Customer Focused Promo Programmes: Partner with our Tech, Data Science and insight teams to deeply understand customer needs, ensuring our promotional and value messages deliver compelling value and resonate with our audience. You’ll work specifically with machine learning / AI driven models to do this, deploying the next best action for our customers, to drive relevancy and efficiency. Work with other members of the team to execute these across CRM and In app merchandising touchpoints.
Promo Execution & Operations: Take the lead on overseeing Operational efficiency of promo execution across the team and influencing the Tech roadmap to address pain points. You'll ensure best-in-class execution and clear, relevant communication to customers.
Budget Management: Owning large multi million pound budget lines for key initiatives, tracking spend closely and optimising plans for anticipated over / under spends.
Lead Test & Learn Agenda: Drive our promo test and learn agenda across the team initiatives for partner-funded promotions, continuously seeking to optimise performance and codify promotional best practices.
Performance Analysis & Optimisation: Own weekly reporting on in-flight campaign performance and conduct thorough post-campaign analysis. You'll identify key metrics of success, pinpoint areas for improvement, and uncover new opportunities for experimentation.
Market & Competitor Intelligence: Stay abreast of competitor trends and market activity to continuously strengthen our promotional plans and maintain a competitive edge.
Requirements
5+ years experience in Marketing, CRM or Commercial role, with some experience of working with value / promotional campaigns
You’re both strategic and operational. You enjoy solving complex problems, working closely with others to find the right solution and thrive on finding the right operational approach to deploy it. You’re comfortable interpreting data to develop insight/consumer-led marketing strategy. Experienced working cross functionally, particularly with Product and Data Science teams
You have strong interpersonal skills and are naturally collaborative. You can manage multiple cross-departmental stakeholders; confident communicating at all levels. Experience in presenting ideas and recommendations to senior leadership to gain buy in
You have a self-starter attitude and you’re able to thrive in a fast-paced matrixed organisation with constant change.
You have a proven track record in making things happen - delivering results quickly and efficiently.
Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
Highly proficient with analytical tools like excel. Sheets, Looker
