We’re looking for a Head of Public Policy, Italy to join our Rome team. This is a hybrid role. In this role, you’ll help us lead our public policy strategy, drive successful advocacy campaigns, and represent Deliveroo and the broader DoorDash group to key external stakeholders across Italy.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be joining the International Public Policy team, working closely with global centres of excellence, cross-functional partners, and business leadership. This role reports to the VP, International Public Policy at DoorDash, based in Europe.
Here’s what your day-to-day might look like:
Policy & Regulatory Tracking: Monitor and evaluate legislative and regulatory developments at regional and national levels to identify risks, spot opportunities, and shape company positions in close cooperation with dedicated internal teams.
Targeted Advocacy & Engagement: Design and execute strategic advocacy campaigns using outreach, research, coalition-building, mobilization, and public relations tools to influence policy outcomes.
Stakeholder Relations: Build and maintain trusted relationships with policy makers, public officials, labor unions, industry associations, and other key stakeholders across Italy.
What You’ll Need to Thrive
Essential
Demonstrated Public Policy Leadership: Extensive experience leading external public policy engagements, regulatory advocacy, and strategic campaigns in an agency, in-house, or government setting in Italy.
Stakeholder Network: Established relationships across Italian policy makers, regulatory bodies, trade associations, and key political stakeholders.
International Matrix Experience: Proven ability to navigate, advise, and execute within a fast-paced, global organization.
The Right Attributes, Competencies & Capabilities: high level of ambition, strong leadership capabilities, collaborative mindset, creativity, and willingness to explore new approaches.
Academic Background: University degree in law, public policy, political science, or a related field.
Nice to Have
Platform & Tech Industry Experience: Understanding of gig economy regulatory frameworks, labor affairs, marketplace platforms, or e-commerce policy.
