Our functions include commercial, operations, and marketing, and teams in the Middle East partner closely with global functions such as product, technology, and consumer to deliver results for our customers.
Regional teams in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha and Kuwait City present one of the biggest growth opportunities available to Deliveroo, and we are building a team of commercially savvy, entrepreneurial, and driven individuals to help us fulfil our potential.
The People team partners closely with the leadership team on all aspects of strategic and operational HR and supports employees across all the regional offices to maintain high performance and strong employee engagement.
About the role
We’re looking for an experienced and innovative Head of HR to shape, lead, and deliver our People strategy in the Middle East. This is a pivotal role, reporting directly to the HR Director, and working closely with the General Manager of the Middle East. You will be responsible for building and executing a comprehensive HR agenda that supports our ambitious growth plans across the region including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha, and Kuwait City, ensuring we attract, develop, and retain top talent in a fast-paced and ever-evolving environment.
You will be a strategic partner to the General Manager as well as the wider regional leadership team, becoming their trusted advisor, and providing insightful HR expertise and guidance to drive business performance. You will play a key role in creating a cohesive, high-performing culture, fostering employee engagement, and promoting our values across all levels of the organisation in the Middle East.
Based in Dubai, this role offers a hybrid work arrangement, requiring you to be in the office at least 3 days per week, and take regular trips to our regional offices.
What you'll be doing
Strategy & Leadership: Be a strategic HR business partner and develop and implement a people strategy aligned with Deliveroo’s global HR framework and the specific needs of the market. Act as a trusted advisor to the General Manager and the regional leadership team on all People-related matters.
Employee Relations & Legal Compliance: Ensure compliance with all regional labor laws and regulations. Proactively manage employee relations, creating a positive and fair working environment. Develop and implement effective HR policies and procedures tailored to the context in the Middle East (including Emiratisation, Kuwaitization, and Qatarization).
Organization Design: Make sure the organization’s leadership, structures, processes, and culture are set up to enable us to hit our ambitious business goals.
Culture & Engagement: Promote Deliveroo’s culture and values within the Middle East. Create and implement initiatives to boost employee engagement, motivation, and retention. Foster a diverse and inclusive workplace.
Performance Management & Development: Lead the implementation of performance management processes that drive accountability and support employee growth. Develop and deliver learning and development initiatives to enhance skills and capabilities across the team in the Middle East.
Reward: Manage and optimise our compensation and benefits programs in the Middle East to ensure competitiveness and alignment with local market practices.
Change Management: Lead and support organisational change efforts, ensuring effective communication and minimal disruption.
Team Leadership: Lead, support, and develop a high-performing HR team for the Middle East, in close partnership with the recruitment team in the region and central centres of excellence.
Requirements
You will have significant senior HR leadership experience, ideally within a fast-paced, high-growth environment, preferably within the tech, logistics, or retail sectors.
You will have experience in developing and implementing effective HR strategies such as organisational design, employee engagement, performance management, and employee relations, that will drive business results.
Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills, with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels.
You will have sound experience in local employment law practices and procedures.
You will have excellent communication skills, with business fluency in English (written and spoken).
