About the role

Millions of customers and thousands of restaurants, various types of businesses, and delivery drivers rely on us to connect them within seconds. The New vertical team focuses on grocery & retail, and their main activities will be to build and maintain relationships with them, and to help them increase their online sales.
We're looking for a New Verticals Strategy Associate to join our Finance & Strategy team, reporting to the Finance & Strategy Director. The New Verticals Strategy Associate will help solve the most critical problems for the business using strategic financial analysis to shape our new verticals strategy to grow our market share whilst achieving our financial targets. You will work as a business partner to the New verticals team to execute projects and initiatives, build frameworks and support the implementation of high impact projects. You must have excellent personal and communication skills and be able to build cross-functional relationships with key senior stakeholders and teams to achieve goals, while enforcing accountability.
What you'll be doing
You will look after various new verticals projects and initiatives for the Italian market and challenge the way we do things, driving innovation forward. Responsibilities include:
New Verticals Strategic & Financial Planning
Support the 3-step annual planning process, closely partnering with the new verticals teams
(i) diagnose the key pain points to solve to foster business through the new verticals part of the business
(ii) design the new verticals strategy
(iii) build the financial models for budget/planning iterations
Strategy Execution & Monitoring
Strongly contribute to the execution of the new verticals strategy through current cadences and reporting tools:
The Weekly Business Review (WBR), supporting the ad-hoc analysis to understand trends in weekly performance
Tracking the Regional Organisation performance aiming at monitoring the execution of the new verticals Plan, consolidating and communicating/aligning on change
The Monthly Business Review (MBR) aiming to monitor overall new verticals performance and identify potential opportunities or course correction actions.
Deal approval
Ensure consistency between deals in terms of financial and commercial conditions
Requirements
1-3 years of experience, ideally in analysts/consultants roles in strategic consulting companies, M&A / PE or high growth consumer facing/tech companies
Master’s degree
Excellent analytical and numerical skills
Advanced gsheet and gslide skills
Strong consumer acumen
Excellent communication skills, capacity to influence and interact across different levels of the organisation
Ability to work with tight deadlines
Ability to deal with ambiguity, experience working in matrixed organisations appreciated
Excellent level of English required
