The Role
Deliveroo is committed to driving ambitious growth while ensuring it is supported by robust processes, a strong control environment, and efficient, reliable financial reporting. In light of this, and alongside the requirements of the UK Corporate Governance Reform, we are seeking an experienced Controls Projects Senior Finance Manager to help deliver key elements of our financial controls transformation programme.
This is a 9-month fixed-term contract, designed to provide additional capacity as we move from a largely informal control environment to a more standardised and embedded framework. The role will focus on executing and accelerating in-flight control initiatives, supporting key stakeholders in Finance and Risk, and ensuring we meet critical delivery milestones over the next two quarters.
Key Responsibilities:
Framework Development and Adoption:
Internal Controls Methodology:
Lead the scoping of Financial Statement Line Items (FSLIs) to identify in-scope business processes for controls testing.
Conduct walkthroughs to understand end-to-end processes, risks and controls to assess and improve process and control design.
Document processes through narratives, flowcharts and risk and control matrices to ensure clarity and consistency.
Perform design and operating effectiveness testing - design appropriate test plans and evidence testing in line with audit principles.
Stakeholder Engagement and Remediation:
Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships to help drive the controls agenda.
Communicate control deficiencies to stakeholders and recommend pragmatic, actionable remediation plans.
Support remediation efforts by providing subject matter expertise to control owners.
Policy Development:
Develop, maintain or enhance financial controls documentation, including policies, procedures, guidelines and standards.
Continuous Improvement:
Facilitate the sharing of best practices and drive standardisation to enhance the control environment.
Improve control environment maturity through, for example, automation opportunities and assessing / implementing 'to-be' controls in new system implementations.

Qualifications and Skills
Experience in financial controls or internal audit, ideally within a fast-paced or growth-oriented environment.
Strong knowledge of financial reporting risks, and expected minimum controls across common business cycles such as revenue and the financial statement close process.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Effective communicator with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
Experience in supporting regulatory compliance initiatives, such as Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) or UK Corporate Governance Reform.
