Community and Sustainability
We’re dedicated to supporting the communities we serve and building a sustainable future across all sides of our marketplace.
Whether that’s reducing waste, tackling food insecurity, or helping local businesses and our riders thrive, everyone has an opportunity to make a positive impact at Deliveroo.
Contributing to communities
Full Life
In partnership with the Trussell Trust, Deliveroo Full Life uses our unique network to help provide millions of meals to people facing hunger.
Too Good To Go
Deliveroo’s partnership with The Felix Project and Too Good To Go delivers surplus food to people facing hunger via our Hop grocery sites.
Training academy
Our training academy with Enterprise Nation helps small and medium-sized restaurants across the UK access expert advice and training opportunities.
Volunteering
Our employees get paid time each year to volunteer or support a charity.
Islington internship programme
We’re supporting the community of Islington with opportunities to experience the world of work.
Tech apprenticeships
Deliveroo has partnered with tech start-up Multiverse, to donate over £200,000 of its unspent apprenticeship levy to organisations looking to upskill their staff.
Delivering sustainable change
As a business, we’re in a great position to meet consumer demand for more sustainable practices and drive change among our partners. We’re committed to reducing plastic waste, food waste, and carbon emissions caused by our operations. We want to encourage and accelerate new behaviours that bring lasting change to our industry.
We take our responsibility to the environment and the communities we serve seriously, and are taking action to drive positive change. I’m really proud of the progress the company has made over the past few years. For example, our innovative partnership agreement with GMB was the first deal with a trade union in the sector, and gives our riders the right to collective representation. Whatever your role at Deliveroo, it will touch on part of our sustainability mission and I think that’s part of what makes Deliveroo a really exciting place to work.

Sustainability focus areas
We focus on six areas where we believe we can have the most impact:
Reaching net zero and reducing waste
Reducing our own direct emissions while supporting partners and consumers to reduce their own emissions and food and packaging waste.
Supporting merchants to grow and be more sustainable
Providing our merchants with new opportunities to grow revenues, increase brand value and maximise profit potential from online delivery, while supporting and enabling more sustainable behaviour.
Riding and thriving
Giving people the flexible work they value alongside the security they deserve, as well as attractive earning and learning opportunities.
Enabling healthier eating
Giving our consumers the best selection, availability and value in healthier choices, as well as the tools to help them make informed decisions about what to order.
Tackling food insecurity in our communities
Establishing the right partnerships in our communities to help to tackle food insecurity.
Building a diverse and inclusive company and marketplace
Creating a team of diverse talents where everyone feels at home within Deliveroo, while supporting diversity, equity and inclusion across our marketplace.
