Merchandising Planning & Operations Manager - New Verticals
Location: Hyderabad, India
We are looking for a Merchandising Planning & Operations Manager to join our New Verticals team, covering Grocery and Retail Marketplace. This role will be pivotal in ensuring our in-app merchandising is always fresh, exciting, and frictionless.
You will empower multiple markets across the globe to deliver best-in-class merchandising that delight customers and drive business growth. As a people manager, you will lead 2–3 associates and collaborate closely with global and local commercial teams, marketing, designers, content specialists, taxonomist and product managers. This is a unique opportunity to shape how millions of customers discover and shop for groceries and retail products on Deliveroo.
What you’ll be doing
Own the design and implementation of scalable systems and processes that enable seamless collation and reliable execution of in-app merchandising.
Streamline campaign execution by consolidating merchandising requests from Local Commercial, Marketing, and Global Growth teams.
Drive the creation of compelling merchandising assets by partnering with designers and content writers to ensure high-quality visuals and copy.
Lead, coach, and develop a team of 2–3 merchandising associates to deliver best-in-class execution on the app.
Empower local markets with frameworks, playbooks, and best practices to design impactful campaigns and customer journeys.
Showcase the right product selection in every campaign by collaborating with the Taxonomist to design seasonal and mission-based merchandising.
Generate insights and influence future campaigns by conducting in-depth post-campaign analysis, identifying performance drivers, and presenting actionable recommendations to all stakeholders.
Shape the future of in-app merchandising by partnering with the Product team on tooling development, testing, and enhancements.
What we are looking for
We’re looking for a Merchandising Planning & Operations Manager who can blend strategic thinking with hands-on execution to create best-in-class customer experiences on our app. You’ll thrive in this role if you:
Have experience in merchandising within e-commerce, retail, or marketplaces.
Are analytical and data-driven, comfortable using tools like SQL, Looker, Tableau, or Google Analytics to turn insights into action.
Bring strong commercial instincts, knowing how product placement, promotions, and campaigns drive customer engagement and sales.
Are a natural collaborator and influencer, able to work seamlessly with marketing, product, designers, and local markets.
Enjoy leading and developing teams, coaching others to deliver excellence.
Have an eye for detail and quality, ensuring every campaign looks and feels right for our customers
