The Role:
We’re looking for an experienced and innovative Head of People to shape, lead, and deliver our People strategy in Italy. This is a pivotal role, reporting directly to the VP, People, and working closely with the General Manager of Italy. You will be responsible for building and executing a comprehensive HR agenda that supports our ambitious growth plans across the Italian market, ensuring we attract, develop, and retain top talent in a fast-paced and ever-evolving environment.
You will be a strategic partner to the General Manager as well as the wider Italy leadership team, providing insightful HR expertise and guidance to drive business performance. You will play a key role in creating a cohesive, high-performing culture, fostering employee engagement, and promoting our values across all levels of the organisation in Italy.
Based in Milan, this role offers a hybrid work arrangement, requiring you to be in the office at least 3 days per week.
What you’ll be doing:
- Strategy & Leadership: Develop and implement a people strategy aligned with Deliveroo’s global HR framework and the specific needs of the Italian market. Act as a trusted advisor to the General Manager and the Italian leadership team on all People-related matters.
- Employee Relations & Legal Compliance: Ensure compliance with all Italian labor laws and regulations. Proactively manage employee relations, creating a positive and fair working environment. Develop and implement effective HR policies and procedures tailored to the Italian context.
- Organization Design: Make sure the organization’s leadership, structures, processes, and culture are set up to enable us to hit our ambitious business goals.
- Culture & Engagement: Promote Deliveroo’s culture and values within Italy. Create and implement initiatives to boost employee engagement, motivation, and retention. Foster a diverse and inclusive workplace.
- Performance Management & Development: Lead the implementation of performance management processes that drive accountability and support employee growth. Develop and deliver learning and development initiatives to enhance skills and capabilities across the Italian team.
- Reward: Manage and optimise our compensation and benefits programs in Italy to ensure competitiveness and alignment with local market practices.
- Change Management: Lead and support organisational change efforts, ensuring effective communication and minimal disruption.
- Team Leadership: Lead, support, and develop a high-performing HR team for Italy, in close partnership with the Italy recruitment team and central centres of excellence.
What we’re looking for:
- You will have significant senior HR leadership experience, ideally within a fast-paced, high-growth environment, preferably within the tech, logistics, or retail sectors.
- You will have experience in developing and implementing effective HR strategies such as organisational design, employee engagement, performance management, and employee relations, that will drive business results.
- Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills, with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels.
- You will have excellent communication skills, with business fluency in both Italian and English (written and spoken).
