We are transforming the way the world eats and shops by making access to food and products more convenient and enjoyable. We give people the opportunity to buy what they want, as they want it, when and where they want it.We are a technology-driven company at the forefront of the most rapidly expanding industry in the world. We are still a small team, making a very large impact, looking to answer some of the most interesting questions out there. We move fast, value autonomy and ownership, and we are always looking for new ideas.

The Role

This role sits in the Rider Engagement team, a crucial component of the Rider Operations department at Deliveroo.

Known for its expertise in rider interaction, content creation, and Community event organization, the Rider Engagement team is dedicated to crafting the optimal experience and value proposition for Deliveroo riders in Italy.

As a Rider Communications Associate, you will play a vital role in ensuring effective communication between the company and its network of riders.
You will also contribute to building a strong rider community through live events and remote engagement activities.

What You'll Do

Specifically, your role will involve the following responsibilities:

  • Create content and set up an editorial plan for rider communication channels, including newsletters, our Rider Instagram page and our website, aligning them with the company strategy.
  • Deliveroo Rider Instagram page Community management (direct and comments).
  • Review translations and contents provided by HQ to ensure relevance and suitability for the Italian rider fleet.
  • Contribute to the development of remote engagement activities aimed at involving the Rider Community and creating riders’ stories.
  • Utilize graphic design skills and basic tools knowledge (such as Canva) for newsletter making, creativity for social media, etc.
  • Work closely with the local and international Rider Operations team for the creation of content materials, website updates and newsletter sending.
  • Collect feedback from riders regarding their experiences, challenges, and suggestions for improvement through communications and events.
  • Collaborate in the organization of rider events.

  • Support the invoice payment process through our internal platform to ensure timely payment to external providers.

This role is based in Milan and will report to our Rider Engagement Lead. The position is a fixed term contract of 12 months.

  • Italian is your mother tongue (or equivalent), you must be fluent in both written and spoken English -> you’ll be interacting daily with colleagues in our HQ in London, as well as with external providers abroad.
  • Knowledge of CRM (MailChimp or Braze) and CMS tools (WordPress or Prismic) is a plus, but not mandatory.
  • An empathic attitude: you know how to listen and collect feedback effectively.

“Who” We Are Looking For

Over the years, we have created a cooperative team where personal growth and self-initiative are highly encouraged and at the same time teamwork and team results are more relevant than solo performance.

We’re looking for someone who is quick-minded, is able to work autonomously, is curious enough to ask questions, is eager to learn and cooperate with other team members and at the same time has the empathy to understand the Rider Community’s needs.

Benefits And Diversity

At Deliveroo we know that people are the heart of the business and we prioritise their welfare. We offer different great benefits such as monthly Deliveroo credit, welfare program, community, convenience, growth, time away and relocation. We believe a great workplace represents the world we live in and how beautifully diverse it can be. That means we have no judgement when it comes to any one of the things that make you who you are - your gender, race, sexuality, religion or a secret aversion to coriander.
