The Role

As a Restaurant Strategy Manager, you will lead Deliveroo’s thinking on how we strengthen our value proposition to our restaurant partners and specifically those who operate our Marketplace+ (M+) or Signature services.  You will be the expert in understanding M+ and Signature partners’ needs and the issues and opportunities we need to address.  Working cross-functionally with our Product, Commercial, Operations and Care teams, you will define our prioritised roadmap and lead or coordinate the majority of initiatives on it to realise our ambition to be the partner of choice for restaurants using these services whilst also delivering a leading experience for consumers.

Reporting into the Director of Restaurant Value Proposition, this role offers regular exposure to senior commercial and technology leaders and the opportunity to work across all Deliveroo markets.  For the successful candidate, it offers the opportunity to develop strong strategic problem-solving and project management skills as you design and implement the new and different for Deliveroo.

What you’ll be responsible for

  • Defining and implementing our future roadmap for Marketplace+ by:
    • Identifying opportunities to improve our M+ service by mapping the needs and pain points of current M+ partners across Deliveroo’s markets and benchmarking Deliveroo’s proposition with other delivery aggregators
    • Building the recommended mid-term strategy and business case to invest in improvements to our proposition
    • Aligning cross-functional leaders behind a common roadmap of improvements that cascade into functional roadmaps
    • Leading key initiatives requiring cross-functional project management (for example, fleet switching)
    • Driving both the internal and external go-to-market (supported by Commercial Operations) to drive adoption of new features and services when launched
    • Monitoring M+ performance metrics and steering course-corrections as required to our roadmap and initiatives
  • Expanding and improving performance of our Signature service, by:
    • Identifying opportunities to improve our Signature service by mapping the needs and pain points of current Signature partners across Deliveroo’s markets and benchmarking Deliveroo’s proposition with other delivery aggregators and on-demand logistics providers
    • Partner with Product to define and deliver the Signature product roadmap
    • Defining and rolling out a commercial architecture (Pricing, Terms & Conditions) to ensure we are both competitive and profitable
    • Providing specialist business development support to local commercial teams that own Signature business development processes
    • Programme managing complex partner implementations
    • Driving operational excellence and cost reduction initiatives to maximise contribution profit of the Signature
    • Managing the sunsetting of Front of House 
    • Monitoring Signature performance metrics and steering course-corrections as required to our roadmap and initiatives

Provides regular, constructive feedback to teammates to support team growth and talent retention. Effectively manages difficult interpersonal situations within the team.
