As a Finance Analytics Manager, you'll lead the development of self-serve analytical tools to standardize financial analysis and reconciliation. You'll collaborate closely with Financial Managers and Engineers to improve financial ledger usage and ensure reporting accuracy. Reporting to the Head of Finance Analytics, this role is based in London (Cannon Street) with a hybrid work model (2 days in the office).

Responsibilities 

  • Audit and Financial Reporting: Support regular internal and external audit requests. Perform month-end close activities and identify areas where these can be automated or efficiency-added. Create tools for the wider team to self-serve their audit and financial reporting needs.

  • Data Discovery and Engagement: Identify and test the relevant data from various data sources. Exercise experience of SQL to extract important information and value from data contained in multiple databases and formats. Surface data solutions in Looker  and create visual representations (Looker Dashboards). Help automate the main definitions into a single source of truth.

  • Automation: Work with the Analytics engineering team to automate and maintain financial journals including requesting and signing off any changes to the Financial Reporting systems (GitHub). Improve the analytical tools that provide insights into the monthly variance analysis of the P&L. 

  • Documentation: Create documentation around both existing and newly introduced processes.

  • Ad-hocs: Work on ad-hocs requests from the financial reporting team. 

Requirements

  •  4+ years of relevant experience in a similar finance/analytics position.

  • Work with large and interlinked datasets to make balanced decisions.

  • Numerical literacy combined with a high level of business acumen.

  • Experience building datasets (in SQL) to support a variety of the analytical needs (2+ years).

  • Willingness to have a diverse set of tasks, take responsibility and ‘own’ your work.

  • Both qualified accountants and qualified by experience will be considered.

  • Advanced user of Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets), SQL. Looker experience is welcomed.
